This classic 3/4 march was one of the first tunes I learned to play as a wee piper!
A very common tune to be played by pipe bands at parades. As a solo piper, I've played The Green Hills of Tyrol on many different ceremonies.
3/4 marches such as this bagpipe tune are known as retreats. In the military setting, a retreat would be played when leaving or retreating from a location. This is why I tend to play it at the end of an event or when piping officials or military veterans out after the completion of a formal ceremony.
