Thanks to my childhood friend I was yearning to learn how to play Highland Laddie, on the bagpipes too! 

I still remember one day in my small town school music class when my child hood friend was invited to come to the front of his class with his practice chanter. He played Highland Laddie from memory. I was so impressed, I wanted to be just like him!

Highland Laddie is a very common first tune for beginner bagpipers. Even though Highland Laddie was my friends first tune, I myself did not learn how to play it until I had half a dozen piping tunes under my belt. I'm not sure why I didn't get to learning Highland Laddie right off the bat. I suppose there was a method to my bagpipe teachers lessons haha!  

Needless to say, I was very excited when the day came for me to start working on learning how to play Highland Laddie on my practice chanter!
